Simon Sjöström
Hi, my name is Simon Sjöström. I'm a freelance photographer based in Sundsvall, Sweden, frequently working in Stockholm and Malmö. I'm currently studying Journalism at Mid Sweden University, and it's shaped how I shoot — I'm looking for what actually happened, not a version of it we built together.
I mostly shoot portraits, concerts and events, but I'm always up for something outside that. What I'm after is the messy in-between moments, not the posed ones. I shoot from a lot of angles to find the frame that says something, and I'm used to working under time pressure. Before a job I like to talk things through with the client, so we agree on the feeling we're going for before the camera comes out.
My work has been used by SVT, Avantgardet and my university's student newspaper, as well as bands including Madsens and Jordskalv.
